Going away and not sure where your cat can spend the holiday? Did you know we also do cat sitting?
Cats are usually happier in their own home - familiar smells and spaces reduce stress, not being near other cats can decrease anxiety and lower the risk of disease and your cat can keep their normal routines (food, litter, sleeping spots).
We can provide a free visit to discuss your requirements. More details can be found at www.paws4walkiesmalton.co.uk

This is all very true. A year or 2 ago I created a WhatsApp group for professional dog walkers and pet sitters in this area. There are currently 10 of us in the group and we share ideas, discuss issues, take advice from each other and offer work to others when we're busy.Iβve never seen other dog walkers as competitors.
I see them as allies⦠And I genuinely believe that mindset makes our local dog community stronger.
No single walker can meet every dogβs needs. Dogs are individuals: some thrive in calm, structured solo walks, others need carefully matched social groups, some need confidence-building, some need enrichment, and some simply need patience and consistency. Different walkers bring different skills, experience, setups and energy and that variety is a good thing!
Seeing other professionals as allies means I can recommend someone whoβs a better fit when a dogβs needs change, when my availability is full, or when a family needs something slightly different. That honesty builds trust, not just between walkers, but with owners too. It puts the dog first ALWAYS.
A supportive network also raises standards across the board. We share knowledge, flag local hazards, talk through tricky situations, and learn from each otherβs experiences. We encourage best practice, accountability and professionalism. Because when one of us does well, it reflects positively on the whole industry.
Thereβs also a very real human side to this work. It can be physically demanding, emotionally heavy and unpredictable. Having fellow walkers who understand the realities, the muddy days, the difficult decisions, the responsibility we carry matters.
Collaboration creates resilience, not rivalry.
At the end of the day, dog walking isnβt about winning clients.
Itβs about welfare, trust and consistency.
When we work alongside one another instead of against each other, dogs get better care, owners get better guidance, and our local community becomes safer, kinder and more reliable for everyone involved.
Thatβs why Iβll always choose collaboration over competition. πΎπ§‘

We've done our last walkies and pet visits now for 2025 and what a year it's been. We've enjoyed looking after dogs, cats, tortoises, fish, birds, guinea pigs, chickens and a goose! It's been amazing to continue looking after my regular pets as well as some new faces joining us. The business continues to go from strength to strength and that's thanks to my wonderful customers entrusting us to look after their loved and valued pets each day. We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and whilst needing a rest now, also very much looking forward to plenty more adventures in 2026. Thank you and enjoy the festivities and wishing everyone health and happiness for the New Year
